Making Des Moines, Washington sparkle since 2022

At Waterland Pride, we celebrate joy and embrace everyone with open arms. Founded right here in the heart of Des Moines, Washington in 2022, our registered 501(c)(3) was created to bring together our local LGBTQIA+ community in a warm, welcoming space where everyone can truly feel at home.

The woman in the middle is wearing a fancy dress and jewelry, the man on the left wears sunglasses and a white cap with donations, and the man on the right wears a beige hat and a black T-shirt featuring a rainbow sheep and the phrase 'I'm the Rainbow Sheep'.

Our mission

Des Moines Waterland Pride advocates, educates, and fosters LGBTQIA+ awareness, emphasizing acceptance and belonging. Our mission includes addressing intersectional issues such as racism, housing and food insecurities, and homophobia and transphobia, and to create intentional, sustainable, and safe environments for the Des Moines, Washington LGBTQIA+ community.

Dive into community!

In addition to our fabulous PrideFest every June, we host several free events throughout the year, including game nights, drag bingo, and more.

We also shine a spotlight on resources that matter to the queer community, and organize educational talks to boost awareness on issues important to LGBTQIA+ folks and their allies.

We rely on the generosity of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers make it all happen.
